1920s Wire Photo GEORGE EARNSHAW Athletics - An ORIGINAL Wire Photo issued in the 1920's by Acme Newspictures depicting George Earnshaw of the Philadelphia Athletics.  The original press stamp, date and caption are on the reverse of this vintage photo measuring 6" x 8".  Earnshaw who was nicknamed Moose, teamed with Lefty Grove on Mack's Mighty Athletics to form the game's premier pitching duo for the years 1929-31 (79 wins by Grove, 67 by Earnshaw) with a league-high 24 in 1929.  Fine sepia image with superb contrast and clarity that highlights this beautiful photograph with rich tones and hues.

1923 Wire Photo YANKEE STADIUM's 1st WORLD SERIES GAME - An ORIGINAL Wire Photo issued on October 10, 1923 depicting Game 1 of the 1923 Fall Classic, the ceremonial first pitch being tossed by Commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis (HOF) prior to the start of the Historical 1st World Series Game ever played on Yankee Stadium soil.  Landis was a federal judge and elected baseball's first commissioner in 1921 following the Black Sox's scandal. The original press stamp, date and caption are on the reverse of this vintage 6.5" x 8.5" photograph issued by Pacific & Atlantic Photos.  Fine sepia image with rich tones and hues.  An outstanding memento of the first of many World Series games to be played at the grand cathedral in the Bronx.

1929 Milwaukee Baseball Club Panoramic Team Photo (Framed) - The year was 1929, and the Milwaukee Baseball Club lined up to take their Spring Training team photo in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The panoramic photo, which measures 27"x7", depicts the players and contains text below detailing team/date information. Photo remains in stellar condition, with no notable wrinkles, folds, or tears apparent. Original/vintage frame measures 25"x9 ".

RARE 1930s LARGE Original BURKE Photo LUKE APPLING (HOF) Chicago White Sox - From a Collection of ORIGINAL Vintage 1920's-40's photographic works taken by George Burke, the brilliant early baseball photographer and one of the great masters in the history of baseball photography.  This is a rare large format, vintage, 1st generation original that is 60-80 years in age that was "hand-developed" by the master himself in his Chicago-based studio using his trademark matt finish photographic stock.  The photo carries his original studio stamp and/or filing number and hand markings.  Measuring 8"x 11", the large format Burke photographs were more expensive to produce than the smaller traditional 4" x 6" and hence more scarce today.  As one would expect with Burke's artistic works, superb contrast, clarity and exceptional detail highlights this beautiful photograph of the Hall-of-Famer.

1941 Wire Photo JOE DIMAGGIO (HOF) & HENRICH World Series HR - Death Blow to the Dodgers !   An ORIGINAL Wire Photo issued on October 6, 1941 by International News Photos depicting Joe DiMaggio greeting Tommy Henrich as the latter slammed a home run in Game 5 to help the New York Yankees finish off the Brooklyn Dodgers that afternoon to capture the 1941 World Series.  The Original Press Stamp, Date and Caption are on the reverse of this Vintage photo measuring 8" x 10".  While DiMaggio and Henrich were the heroes of the 1941 Subway Series, the goat, catcher Mickey Owens (the infamous 'dropped third strike') is also pictured.
