Item: American Pine Carved Eagle

Age:  Late 19th - Early 20th Century

Size: 23.5"H x 23.5"W x 3"D

Description: Large standing eagle with curved outstretched wings and gold painted surface. Made from four pine sections. Dark aged patina on reverse with a small brass loop for hanging.  Slight scuffing of finish in a few areas on front (head, left wing, breast) and shows oxidation in areas where wood is slightly exposed. Gold paint appears to be original, but may have had some expert touch-ups. Purchased from the Nov 2002 Skinner American Furniture & Decorative Arts Auction where it was appraised for $2000 - $2500.  A great piece of American folk art that's sure to be one-of-a-kind.

Price: $1950

Item: Walnut Carved American Eagle

Age:  Unknown, Estimated 40-50 years old

Size: 23"W x 16"H x 10"D

Description: Carved from solid walnut the large eagle is beautifully detailed and signed F. Lyko. This one-of-a-kind artistic masterpiece is carved out of four walnut sections (body, two wings, and base). Wings are attached to the body by two hand-carved dowels and the body is attached to the base in the same manner (never glued).  There are several repairs to the tail and talons. Great display piece - if not for the barely visible repairs this incredible looking eagle would be valued at $900-$1200+. There is also some nice oxidation to the partially exposed areas of wood (bottom of base and where wings are attached). Eagle will be disassembled for shipping and can be easily/firmly reassembled.

Item: American Cast Iron Eagle on Solid Oak Base

Age:  c1920-1950s

Size: 8.5"H x 7"W x 6.5"D

Description: Beautiful eagle on globe/ball with what appears to be vintage/original gold paint.  Some minimal paint loss/chipping and corrosion to the surface. A small section of pole welded to the globe base, which rests in the oak base, allows the eagle to be removed/rotated. The classic, spread-winged American eagle design makes this a great patriotic display piece.
